Our story
Welner Wines was established in 1990 by Shimshon Welner, the founder and first General Manager of the Golan Heights Winery. Under his guidance, it was the first winery to bring high quality Israeli wine to the international market. Shimshon left the Golan Heights Winery to create Welner Wines as a family business specializing in the production of wines from Argentina, Australia, Chile, France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. The wines we produce are considered to be some of the best values available by both wine critics and by their loyal customers. The wines are also known for their excellent quality and reasonable prices. Today, we sell our wines in leading wine stores around the world.

The company is headed by Shimshon Welner – who has over 35 years of experience in the wine business, including his time at the Golan Heights Winery, home to such well-known Israeli brands as Yarden, Gamla and Golan. Shimshon has been joined by his wife Liora and his son Yahav. Their vast experience in the wine industry includes the production and marketing of some of the best value wines available anywhere in the world.

Our mission is to seek out the best vineyards and the best quality grapes available. We then work cooperatively with wineries around the world to produce quality wines at different price points. We constantly look to provide our customers with a variety of wines from all over the globe, with the best QPR (quality per price) ratio.

Our wines are the best values available. Our wines are regularly rated as Best Value by international wine critics including being “Best Buys” in the Wine Enthusiast.
We offer a wide spectrum of wines in a variety of wine styles, made from many different grape varieties, grown in some of the finest wine growing regions of the world
We are also experts at matching the wine to the customer and consumer, and have a proven record over a number of years in finding the right wine for the right market.
Some of the wines are suitable for vegans and they are gluten free. Contrary to the usual practice, ingredients derived from animals are not used, nor do they use animal products during their production.
All of the wines are certificated as Kosher for Passover and all year round, by the Union of Orthodox Rabbis (OU).
